I'm a first time Mac user, and am very pleased with this product. It was cheaper to buy from Amazon than Apple, worked flawlessly out of the box, and has been a lot of fun to use. Mac OS X isn't perfect, but there are aftermarket software "widgets" aplenty to address many (what I perceive as) shortcomings. It is fast, stable and written with a lot of thought for the end user. The MacBook's display, sound and keyboard feel are terrific. Overall, a lot of fun to use. more details

It is great for casual browsing and light word processing. I've been using it as a virtual notebook of sorts to capture thoughts / ideas. I do not work for ASUS, THIS IS A MUST BUY!! Look at the title and my disclaimer is that I am a Linux user, however, I also use XP user and the fact is the following, with either Windows or Linux, it would be a mistake to pass this up. I almost bought a MAC and I would have bought a Vista laptop, because I doubted the reviews. I am typing this review on the ASUS micro laptop! I have only used it less than two hours and I already can see that I made the right choice!! I will tell you that at first the keyboard is small, but you really get use to it, and tactile on it is great. I said I was a Linux USER. This version of the SURF is great, no need to mess around tar and xg'ing,media is available and works perfectly. Then there is the speed, the portability, make no mistakes folks, this is the laptop to getI I am using an 8gb card for my removable media. I intend to further upgrade, only if needed. Great job ASUS! I also got the Nokia Internet tablet, but not from AMAZON,(sorry Amazon) at the time they had the higher price, but,not any more! Its a great companion with the Asus, to counter act the battery life. BTW, looking forward to a time that they have a longer lasting battery. Take my advice, try it for yourself! PS, the price on this machine went up since I last bought it, I would certainly get it while they have these models at this price! more details

This is exactly what I was looking for. More than a PDA but 1/4th the size of most laptops. Great for the web and editing documents on the road. The Linux OS is very easy to use and comes with lots of software. Unless you know Linux well it is hard to add additional software. I loaded XP with n lite (instructions on EEE PC user group) and it works great. I loaded all the software that I need while traveling and I have a portable USB HD if I need more space when I am home. If you don't care about size and weight then get a budget, full size laptop. If you have carried a regular laptop for a few hours, and you know what a pain it is then you will like the EEE PC. You give up some capability but you get a very portable laptop that isn't very expensive.

I have had my eee for several weeks now. Initially, I had trouble with the smallness of the screen (still think it could be an inch or 2 larger with the same footprint). After using it and getting the feel of the keyboard (I have smaller fingers, but still need to type with my nails), it has a place in my life. I go to a lot of conferences and this will become my presentation and blogging device. I would recommend it to anyone. I have had some issues with my laptop peripherals (cam, remote mouse etc.) But the gift of size outweighs these.
